All About Joshua Jackson and Jodie Turner-Smith’s Daughter, Juno Rose Diana Jackson

Joshua Jackson and Jodie Turner-Smith share a daughter, Juno Rose Diana Jackson, whom they welcomed in April 2020.

The former couple, who were first linked in 2018 and secretly married in 2019, kept many details about their daughter private for years. It wasn’t until October 2023, when Turner-Smith filed for divorce, that her name was officially revealed.

Despite their split, Jackson and Turner-Smith remain focused on co-parenting their daughter. Here’s everything to know about Juno.

Born at Home During the Pandemic

Juno was born in April 2020 at the couple’s Los Angeles home. Turner-Smith previously wrote about her four-day labor in an essay for British Vogue, describing the experience as intense, powerful, and overwhelming.

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the couple had already planned for a home birth. However, hospital restrictions reinforced their decision.

“Delivering at home ensured that I had what every single woman deserves: full agency in determining my birth support,” she wrote.

She also recalled the emotional moment when Jackson placed their newborn daughter in her arms, saying, “All I could do was look at her face and keep repeating, ‘It’s really you.’”

Her Name Was a Secret for Three Years

Although Jackson and Turner-Smith spoke openly about becoming parents, they chose to keep Juno’s name private for over three years.

In October 2023, when Turner-Smith filed for divorce, legal documents revealed her full name: Juno Rose Diana Jackson.

Turner-Smith later explained that Juno was named after Juno Sospita, the Roman goddess of war and protection. She was inspired by a trip to Rome, where she saw the goddess’s statue at the Vatican.

“I look at that picture [of the statue] often and remind myself that this is the energy I named her after,” she told The Cut in June 2024. “So I shouldn’t be surprised that I literally have a warrior.”

Co-Parenting After Their Divorce

After four years of marriage, Turner-Smith filed for divorce in October 2023. The former couple agreed on joint physical and legal custody of Juno, with no child support payments at the time.

However, in December 2024, Turner-Smith requested retroactive child and spousal support, claiming that she had been Juno’s primary caretaker while Jackson continued advancing in his career.

In court filings, she alleged that Jackson had previously promised to financially support her and their daughter if they ever separated.

Despite their differences, Turner-Smith remains focused on fostering a healthy co-parenting relationship with Jackson.

“We need happiness in order to peacefully co-parent,” she told The Cut in October 2024. “I just have to do everything that I can to set Juno up to win and to peacefully co-parent with someone whom I once loved very, very much.”
