Bridge Dwelling Cat’s Hope: Cat lives on a bridge for 6 months, hoping for the return of its owner to treat its injured tail.

November 10, 2023 by Nhat Anh

A cat lived on a bridge for 6 months, hoping that its owner would return and treat its injured tail.

This is Nicky, a stray cat with no place to call home.
It’s been said that Nicky has been living on this bridge for over 6 months, never leaving for even a minute.
In fact, someone once tried to adopt him, but he eventually left the house and returned to the bridge.

They say he’s waiting for his owner and rejects the help of everyone else.
But recently, his health has deteriorated and it seems he’s also injured.
So, we decided to do something to help the cat.
Myself and my teammates came and waited where the cat often appeared.
We set out some food to attract his attention.

While he was momentarily distracted, I cautiously approached with a net in hand.
But a small mistake caused the cat to dart away.
He’s truly a clever and agile cat.
He’s also very cautious; I tried to approach him for the next 2 hours, but without success.
We had to come back the next evening, and this time, I managed to catch him.

The cat was taken to a nearby veterinary clinic.
I didn’t expect that such a small cat could possess such strength.
It practically caused chaos and havoc in the clinic.
The cat jumped and dashed everywhere, and we had to both chase after him and protect the clinic from being damaged.
Like action scenes in a movie, the cat finally landed spectacularly and surrendered to us.

The veterinarian explained that the poor cat had an injured tail with a deteriorating ulcer.
This could be the result of a car accident, and the cat would need at least two weeks to recover.
He was given antiseptic injections and carefully bandaged before being placed in a cage to rest.
At this point, he had become calmer and no longer caused trouble.

After two weeks of treatment, his wounds had completely healed.
Today, we brought the cat to a designated pet-friendly area in the city.
Here, they will have the freedom to live and receive regular meals every day.
I’m confident that this will be the most suitable environment for him, a mischievous cat who loves freedom.
