A post shared on Facebook claims to show Israel bombing Syria.

Verdict: Misleading

The image shows Israel bombing Rafah in 2021, not Syria in 2025.

Fact Check:

Social media users are claiming an image shows Israel bombing southern Damascus. One user wrote, “NOW: Israel is violently bombing the surroundings of Southern Damascus, destroying its last remaining army depots.”

This claim is misleading. Through a reverse image search, Check Your Fact found that the image is from 2021 and shows Israel hitting Rafah, which is located in the Gaza Strip. (RELATED: No, Gene Hackman Did Not Post About The Epstein List Before His Death)

“A picture taken in Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, on April 17, 2021, shows an explosion following an airstrike by Israel. – The Israeli military said it had conducted airstrikes against targets in the Gaza Strip following a rocket attack from the Palestinian enclave, in the second such exchange in as many days,” reads the image description.
