On Thursday, February 27, the 33-year-old, who was a victim of Munchausen-by-Proxy, took to Instagram to announce that she has officially earned her driver’s license. In a cheerful selfie video posted on her Instagram Reel, she excitedly shared the news with her followers.
“Hi everybody! So, I’ve got some big news,” Gypsy-Rose said, sitting in the driver’s seat of her car. “I am now, officially, a Louisiana driver!”
She explained that she was on her way to a local Dollar General store to pick up some supplies and brought her fans along for the ride. The video was captured using a GoPro as she navigated her route. Gypsy-Rose also shared some details about her driving test, explaining she took it in two parts — December and January — and found the course to be relatively easy.
“The questions were pretty okay, and I did pretty well on the driving part,” she shared. “The only thing I need to work on is parking and turning into lanes or streets. Sometimes I pull in too fast, but I’ll get better at it.”
She added that, for the most part, she considers herself a good driver and even recently bought her first car.
After arriving at her destination and picking up items for herself and her baby daughter, Aurora, Gypsy-Rose took a moment to thank her supporters.
“I was really nervous to start driving, so thank you to everyone who encouraged me,” she said as she walked back to her car with her shopping bag in hand. “I finally did it!”
Gypsy-Rose and her partner, Ken Urker, welcomed their baby girl, Aurora, on December 28, 2024 — exactly one year after her release from prison for her involvement in the 2015 murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard. Throughout her childhood, Dee Dee subjected Gypsy-Rose to unnecessary and painful medical treatments, ultimately leading to Gypsy-Rose’s tragic involvement in her mother’s death.
As a new mom, Gypsy-Rose has been cautious about sharing her daughter’s image online, choosing to post small glimpses of Aurora while ensuring her face is not shown.
