India Sets New Record with Series Victory Over Bangladesh.Cau

India achieved a commanding seven-wicket victory over Bangladesh on the final day of the second Test in Kanpur, clinching the series 2-0. Despite rain disrupting play for two-and-a-half days, India showcased their resilience, extending their record to 18 consecutive home Test series wins.

Bangladesh, after posting 233 and 146, struggled against India’s bowling attack, with Jasprit Bumrah, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Ravindra Jadeja each taking three wickets. This bowling performance led to Bangladesh being bowled out for just 146 before lunch on day five.

Chasing a target of 95, India reached 98-3, with opener Yashasvi Jaiswal contributing significantly with a second half-century of the match, scoring 51. India’s batting performance was highlighted by a record-breaking fourth day, where they became the fastest team to reach milestones of 50, 100, 150, 200, and 250 runs in Test history.

The victory positions India atop the World Test Championship standings, leading Australia by eight points. Following this Test series, the two teams will face off in a three-match T20 series starting Sunday in Gwalior.
