Luke Bryan’s major slip-up nearly spurred some sexy rumors before Lainey Wilson intervened.
The pair, along with Peyton Manning, worked together to host the 2024 CMAs on Wednesday. Last year, Luke and Peyton shared the gig which prompted Luke to make them “Luke + Pey” t-shirts, a play off of the famous country group Dan + Shay. However, this year, their group grew, prompting Luke to reinvent the idea.
“Now that we’re a threesome,” Luke began. However, he was abruptly cut off by Lainey who interjected: “Luke nuhuh. That’s how you start rumors. You need to rephrase that.”
Luke went on to switch out the accidentally-sexually charged word for a more tame “trio,” which both Lainey and Peyton dubbed as acceptable. The country singer then debuted his new version of the shirts which read: “Luke, Pey, & Lay” which only left more of a suggestive aura on the stage. “Somebody call HR, please,” pleaded Peyton.
Lainey replied: “You know what HR stands for where I come from? Head redneck.”
